Dr. Rosenthal graduated from Vassar College with honors and received his medical degree from the SUNY Downstate College of Medicine.  He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Montefiore Medical Center where he received the Mishkin Award, given to the outstanding trainee at the medical center.  After completing his Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship, he completed an additional fellowship in Advanced Endoscopy at Yale New Haven Hospital.  He also served as a faculty member of the Yale University School of Medicine.

Dr. Rosenthal is board certified in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.  He has expertise in upper endoscopy and colonoscopy as well as the treatment of a broad range of diseases including GERD, hepatitis, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).  He has special interest in the prevention, evaluation, and treatment of gastrointestinal cancers and pancreatic and biliary diseases.  He has significant experience in endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), ERCP, radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for Barrett’s Esophagus, and endoscopic removal of early gastrointestinal cancers (EMR). He has numerous publications on a variety of topics in gastroenterology and has presented his research at many national meetings. He conducts ongoing research in endoscopy and pancreatic disease.

Dr. Rosenthal currently serves as the Director of Advanced Endoscopy and Endoscopic Oncology at Saint Barnabas Medical Center.  He also serves on the Clinical Board of the Saint Barnabas Medical Center Cancer Center and Gastrointestinal Cancer Center.  He is a past President of the New Jersey Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Society.  He and his colleagues at AIG have been honored by the American Cancer Society for their commitment to colorectal cancer prevention.  Dr. Rosenthal has been voted to the list of top physicians in New Jersey (New Jersey Magazine “Top Docs”) by his peers annually.

Dr. Rosenthal also enjoys sports, travel and spending time with his wife and three children.
