Dr. Matthew Askin graduated from Brandeis University and The Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Dr. Askin completed his internal medicine residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Cornell Campus, and his gastroenterology fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. He is board certified in Gastroenterology.
His areas of special interest include capsule endoscopy, inflammatory bowel disease and gastrointestinal endoscopy. Dr. Askin is the Chief of the division of Gastroenterology at Saint Barnabas Medical Center and is a past president of the New Jersey Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Society. In addition, he has been named a Top Doctor for ten consecutive years in New Jersey Monthly magazine.
In his spare time, Dr. Askin enjoys playing basketball and guitar, as well as spending time with his wife and children. Dr. Askin sees patients at the West Orange office.
